In November a strong majority of Missouri voters endorsed Amendment 1. That’s not a sign of voter intent, no, to elected Republicans it’s proof that the issue was too complicated for voters to understand. Just as the legislature knew best on puppy mill regulation and concealed gun carry, the elects now plan to offer a ‘better’ CLEAN.

Endless Wars come to End

The argument has been made that the U.S. Military provides not just protection, but economic boosts to the countries and territories outside of the U.S. The domestic benefit of Scott AFB, Whiteman AFB and Fort Leonard Wood in our region is undeniable, and shouldn’t more of that economic boost be focused on U.S. communities?

Kobayashi Maru, St Louis Style

As reported in the current St. Louis Business Journal , a soon to be released Better Together study proposes a cheat worthy of James Kirk: change that pesky Missouri Constitution so that a new style of entity – essentially the city taking over the county – would be created.

City Sidewalks

Remember, to start any reunification with the county, two-thirds of city voters must vote to dissolve the county status of the city. That’s in the Missouri Constitution. My guess is that most city voters don’t want to give-up that level of local control.
