The Township system is a means for Democrats to organize themselves geographically and regionally. Ostensibly, it is a statewide system providing for communication with the State and National parties. Township committees are strictly citizen–driven and voluntary. It takes a committed community member with an activist nature to form and maintain a committee. But, there is no more important way for Democrats in the St. Louis area and ultimately in Missouri to organize. Listed below are the Democratic Townships in St. Louis County alone:

Active township committees have either live links or Facebook pages. If you discover that your township does not appear to be active it doesn’t mean that it isn’t. Some township committees combine with other townships for their meetings.
