About the Civil War Museum: The Missouri Civil War Museum, located at Jefferson Barracks, is the state’s premier Civil War museum dedicated to honor the thousands of men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. Through the weapons, equipment, items, and uniforms of those who lived during our nation’s defining moment in history, the Museum aims to tell their story in an unbiased interpretation.
The Missouri Civil War Museum complex is a 22,000 square-foot Civil War museum and library facility located at the Jefferson Barracks Historic Site in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 2002, this grassroots 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization is responsible for saving several historic structures and adapting their reuse for the public good. The museum opened for the first time to the public on June 29, 2013.
Legislative Update: A regular feature of West County Democrats general meetings is the Legislative Update presented by Glenn Koenen. Have you ever wondered what our elected officials do aside from raising money for their next campaign? Glenn provides a compact view of legislative initiatives proposed by our lawmakers at the national and state level. If it is important to understand exactly what our officials are doing or not doing to improve the well being, health and safety of our community, you can always find his summary on the Legislative Issues page.
