In August our guest speaker, Dr. Dave Robertson, Political Science Department at UMSL, suffered a medical emergency which caused us to cancel the August 10 meeting.  He is recovering well and provided West County Democrats with a video of the presentation he would have made to the group during our meeting.

2023 & Beyond

Charities will be pummeled by increased requests for help which far exceed their ability to respond.  The state and federal governments, along with experts, meanwhile will keep telling people to go to charities for help.

Legislative Report – April 10, 2020

Missouri has long lagged most other states in the operation of its benefit programs.  As mentioned before, the state has moved from a county office model to Call Centers handling food stamps, Medicaid and most other programs.   The Call Centers have been a monumental failure at handling everyday work flow.  They now constitute an inescapable calamity struggling families must endure.
