True, most every cop will deny targeting old white people to offset embarrassing data. Yet pulling over more white folk is easier than changing perceptions, prejudice and tradition.

From 1970 to the present, the number of people incarcerated in the United States has grown 500%, and this is the result of bad policy at all levels. The percent of the U.S. population in prison today, is six times greater than the next closest country. The percentage in Missouri is even higher than the national average. In fact, Missouri is now #1 in female incarceration in the country…We cannot continue on this trajectory.

Changing the Dynamic

The wheel is turning in Missouri and, while the divide still seems great, progress was made in the 2018 midterms. We tend to be late adopters of trends that start at the coast and move inland, but change is coming if we stay strong.

Don’t be Confused by Late Promises

We now have the potential for restoring civility and integrity to our political system if we have the will. We have solid progressive proposals that can make us safer, healthier, fiscally responsible and more just — and a willingness by Democrats to work collaboratively with all to ensure the promise of America.
