“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”
Given the President’s glaring inability to accept or participate in objective reality, we may be facing the harrowing prospect of having to use Section 4. Perhaps the most frightening aspect of this is that at least 30% of the country would not accept invoking Section 4 and are fully participating in President Trump’s mental illness. This is the type of mass mental dissociation seen in Germany in the 1930s, in Laos under Pol Pot, and in current day North Korea. It gives one great pause and concern.
This article, “Maybe Trump Isn’t ‘Lying’” from the Washington Post of January 25, 2017 lays out the possibility of Invoking Section 4.
