The Washington Post (see link here) and other news sources reported on energized gatherings at the local offices of Representatives where town hall meetings were held.
At a town hall meeting featuring Republican Rep. Tom McClintock in Roseville, California more than 1,000 people showed up. Rep. McClintock eventually fled the meeting with a police escort.
The swarms at these meetings are a model for the new action that moderates and progressive liberals must adopt as an ongoing practice. Let’s keep ourselves advised of any opportunity to show up in overwhelming numbers at town hall meetings and other constituent meetings. Are there any plans to protest outside of local offices for Rep. Ann Wagner or Sen. Roy Blunt? I’d be happy to hear of any plans and would be glad to show up whenever I can.
