Topic: The Mission of ALIVE in the St. Louis Metro Area
Speaker: Maggie Menefee – joined ALIVE as Executive Director in the fall of 2013. She has 30 years of experience working with victims of crime, specifically crimes against persons. As the first Coordinator of Victim Assistance in St. Charles County she began providing 24-hour access for domestic violence victims for Orders of Protection before the law changed in Missouri in 1993 to allow 24-7 access for victims. Since joining ALIVE, the agency has grown from only 13 full-time staff to now 19 full time and 15 part time people improving services to anyone who has suffered the trauma of intimate partner violence. Ms Menefee has a Masters in Social Work from Brown School of Social Work at Washington University.
Our annual Circle of Concern Holiday Silent Auction will be held before the program and all are urged to donate items and/or bid generously for a great cause.
– Circle of Concern, a local food pantry supported by West County Democrats, is collecting canned goods including peanut butter, fish and meat as well as paper products. Any such items brought to our monthly meetings will be delivered to the pantry. Cash and checks are welcome.
