Topic: How Do We Select Presidential Candidates? Join us to learn more about the process. Missouri’s Primary is March 10, 2020
Speaker: Joan Kelly Horn worked part time for the past thirteen years for the St. Louis County Department of Human Services as Legal Services Coordinator. The program provided free legal services for low-income seniors at five locations throughout the County.
Ms. Horn served as Executive Director of the St. Louis Community Development Administration from 1999 until 2001.
Ms. Horn is a former Congresswoman, having served in the U.S. House of Representatives. She was elected to represent Missouri’s 2nd District in 1990.
After serving in Congress, Horn spent three years in the Clinton Administration at the Departments of Defense and Commerce. Returning to St. Louis, Horn served as president of a youth violence prevention initiative from 1997-1999.
Prior to her election, Horn co-founded and was president of a research and planning firm. Horn holds bachelors’ and masters’ degrees from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
– Circle of Concern, a local food pantry supported by West County Democrats, is collecting canned goods including peanut butter, fish and meat as well as paper products. Any such items brought to our monthly meetings will be delivered to the pantry. Cash and checks are welcome.
