Healthcare facilities in Missouri are getting sparse, leaving rural communities with little or no access to critical care. Our state legislature has consistently trimmed and avoided public funding for these services, expecting commercial providers to step up and fill the gap. They haven’t and, for purely commercial reasons, they won’t.
