Connie Gray
Where: Parkway UCC Church – Heritage Rm. 2841 N Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO 63131
Connie Gray is a former social worker in mental health. She is a member of Food and Water Watch, member of Social Justice in Action at Eliot Chapel, and a board member of WILPF. She is an author of an environmental memoir about chronic/acute illness (environmental illness) caused from extremely polluted well water, fossil fuel, plus the farming and chemical industry.
She will explain that the community she grew up in which is located in rural eastern Ohio, (Jefferson/Harrison County) has recently been heavily fracked for natural gas. She came to find her former neighborhood, including surrounding counties, full of heavy industrial equipment and countless flaring well-heads.
Because of that unfortunate reality and deteriorating health of her family, she decided to put together a fracking presentation to inform others about what the “new normal” has become during fossil fuel drilling and fracking. She will present a number of informative snapshots plus a host of information to enlighten the public.
