WCD Co-Chairs Karen Cloyd and Suzanne Couch attended a pop-up rally for Democratic candidates Nicole Galloway, Jill Schupp, and Deb Lavender at the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Hall in Manchester on Saturday, October 3rd. Even the threat of rain and the late notification of the event didn’t prevent a good-sized group from assembling on the parking lot of the hall to hear the candidates.

Health care was the primary issue discussed, with all the candidates thanking the crowd for passing Medicaid Expansion in August. All the candidates vowed to implement the measure as soon as possible. Nicole Galloway, candidate for Governor, voiced the necessity to act quickly since now-Governor Parsons removed nearly 100,000 children from the Medicaid roles during the Pandemic.

Jill Schupp, Candidate for Congress (MO 2), assured the crowd she will work to strengthen the Affordable Care Act. Deb Lavender, candidate for the Missouri Senate, vowed that better health care for all Missourians will be her focus in the Senate.
