Topic: National Popular Vote (NPV) Initiative Explained by Robert Allen, Speakers Bureau Representative for St. Louis League of Women Voters
Bob Allen grew up in Columbia, MO, and graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering. He worked for McDonnell Douglas and then Boeing for 35 years as an Avionics Systems Engineer/Manager. He retired in December 2014, and has since been active in a number of non-profit organizations focusing on social justice. Bob was a life-long Republican until two things occurred: First he became very involved as a volunteer and later as a board member for a women’s homeless shelter in the city of St. Louis. The second was when Barack Obama ran for president. Since then, he has identified himself politically as a Democrat. He joined the STL League of Women Voters several years ago with his wife, Sue. In the League, he has played an active role on the STL Speakers Bureau and the MO National Popular Vote Committee.
