Interfaith Dialogue Meeting – September 27, 2017

As a follow-up to our last West County Democrats speaker, Dr. David Oughton, on August 14, 2017, Dr Oughton suggested that an understanding of world religions would provide background for a democratic world federation.

For those interested, there are monthly discussions germane to learning more about the religions of the world as represented by Saint Louisians.  These Interfaith Dialogues are held in Adams Hall at Eliot Unitarian Chapel, 100 S. Taylor, Kirkwood MO. from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

The topic at the last meeting on Wednesday, August 23rd, was: “What is your faith tradition’s perspective on politics and religion – separate or social justice or something else?”  On the 4th Wednesday next month, on September 27, 2017, the discussion topic will be “How much of sacred scripture can we take literally?”

The format of the meetings is to gather at 11:30 am to discuss events, resources, etc. Then around noon, after a short devotional, attendees discuss the topic of the month until 1:20 pm when the group then decides the topic for the next month’s meeting. It is helpful to think about future topics ahead of the meeting so as to better prepare for interesting topics in future sessions.

Please join us at the next Interfaith Dialogue at Eliot Unitarian Chapel on September 27, 2017!
