South County Politics

My wife and I found this flyer on our windshield after church.

The pictured mosque is just off Reavis Barracks right after the conversion from Mackenzie Road.

Back in 2016 I ran for state representative in District 95, immediately south and east of district 94.  My opponent, Marsha Haefner, outfitted her campaign workers in sweatshirts proclaiming that she was the only candidate opposed to the city – county merger.  Strange since I had purposely avoided any mention or questionnaire on that issue.

Just as interesting were murmurs about my “California money” — $200 total, from one of my cousins, her brother-in-law and my wife’s cousin – which was bad even though Haefner harvested thousands from Washington trade associations.

Now, I haven’t been able to contact the Democrat running in 94 – Jean Pretto – but I’ll bet the paid-for house here that she and her supporters had nothing to do with this flyer.

So, if this is how south county Republicans treat their own is it any wonder why they support Right To Work, want to starve schools and the rest of state government and oppose access to health care?
