Cosby and Judge

Bill Cosby had prison food for breakfast this morning.

Yes, “America’s Dad” a.k.a. prisoner NN7687, now has “a single cell in a unit adjacent to the infirmary” in a Pennsylvania prison.

Despite age, blindness, depression and a host of other issues, a judge ordered Cosby to prison for three to ten years: “No one is above the law, and no one should be treated differently or disproportionally,” [Judge] O’Neill said.

Meanwhile, Brett Kavanaugh friend Mark Judge waits on a beach for the FBI to come talk to him.  He did not go to Washington to speak-up for his friend, “We have told the Committee that I do not want to comment on these events publicly.  As a recovering alcoholic and a cancer survivor, I have struggled with depression and anxiety…”

Tough.

Or, as Cosby’s judge put it, “This was a serious crime…this has all circled back to you. The day has come, the time has come.”  [CNN 9/25/18]  What Mark Judge wants is not important, no, the time has come for him to talk about the allegations raised by Professor Christine Blasey Ford.

I could find no news reports of Senators Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz or any Republican saying how tragic that Mr. Jello Pudding may die in prison.

Yet, all of Republican Judiciary Committee senators voted to protect Mark Judge from having to come before their committee, even after Judge’s lawyer released a lukewarm ‘willing to cooperate letter.’

Now, I’m actually surprised that Mark Judge didn’t simply say, “I respectfully invoke my Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.”  After all, the professor’s testimony makes him an accomplice to attempted rape.  That’s a felony which could still be brought in Maryland where the alleged attack occurred.  So, give Judge partial credit for offering some cooperation.

Still, Kavanaugh express sympathy for all poor Mark has gone through…

KAVANAUGH: Mark Judge was a friend of ours in high school who developed a very serious  drinking problem, an addiction problem that lasted decades and was very difficult for him to escape from.  And he nearly died. And then developed — then he had leukemia as well, on top of it.  Now, as part of his therapy — or part of his coming to grips with sobriety, he wrote a book that is a fictionalized book and an account….

Yes, an honest memoir to Judge but a “fictionalized account” to Kavanaugh.  And, obviously, Judge is too sickly to cover the 128 miles from his beach front in Delaware to the Capitol.    (Meanwhile, Professor Ford flew across the county despite an apprehension of airplanes.)

So, searching for truth has little value to Republicans.  Or, they want to avoid showing us what they know, that Brett Kavanaugh has never been the quality of citizen who deserves to be a judge.

Meanwhile, good news: Bill Cosby will get chocolate pudding in prison tomorrow.
