October Meeting Announcement

West County Democrats was formed by a group of concerned citizens. The purposes of the organization are to educate its members on issues of public, cultural, or political concern, to encourage members to actively support Democratic candidates for political office, and to support social action projects or community support activities as approved by the membership.

Come and engage these candidates. Give them feedback on their presentations, ask questions and hear answers.

Reality Check

On a brisk Saturday morning in May 2009 my brother-in-law and I jogged about a third of a mile from where we parked the rented minivan, up the hill to the basketball arena. Up and down the stairs we went until we found family. I looked at the graduation program trying to find my daughter’s name. Then I died.

Proud to Vote Democratic

These are regular folks, like you and I, who are standing up to corporate, big money-backed forces to change the status quo and restore Missouri to a state where the welfare of the people is the supreme law. If you are interested in flushing dark money corruption out of Jefferson City and helping drive reforms that benefit all Missourians, you should support these candidates and vote Democratic in the fall.

A First Step in Missouri

Of course, not every workers gets full-time hours and most don’t work at those few trend-setting employers. Too many workers – especially in Missouri – still earn the state’s minimum of $7.85 an hour. Worse, some folks over in Kansas still earn just the federal minimum wage of $7.25.

This November Missouri voters get to help themselves and their neighbors. Proposition B will raise the state’s minimum wage to $12.00 an hour by 2023.
