By the way, they’ve made it all about Trump, OK? This movement is ascendant and it’s gonna go on long after Donald Trump. And it’s gonna get even more powerful and broader. Even if a Democrat was to win, there’s no compromise here… President Trump is a moderate in our movement. You’re going to pine in future years that you wished Donald Trump was around.

Yes, Steve Bannon earned convictions for fraud and ought to be imprisoned for his role in January 6th’s insurrection and other Trump era domestic terrorism. All of that and his horribly popular podcast makes him a Pied Piper (along with Michael Flynn and similar slime) of the Great Aggrieved Army. Instead of law, they demand that they rule. If you don’t like the election outcome ignore it, if you disagree with any level of government attack!

The new Speaker of The House, Mike Johnson, swore an oath to protect the United States Constitution – but he believes the Bible is the supreme law. (He also believed human and dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time. We’ll get to that again on another day.) Johnson belongs to a loose alliance of elected folk in Washington – Marjorie Taylor Green, Lauren Bobert, Josh Hawley among them – who openly or with a sly wink believe America must be ruled as the Christian Nation as the Founders intended. If the Bill of Rights conflicts with their Christian nationalist view, well, the rights come from man but the Bible is of God.
Both arms of the octopus attract the permanently pissed. You know, the fearful crowd that embraces antisemitism, anti-immigration, anti-wokeness, anti-LGBTQ rights and such.
Yes, this nation always has a few outliers and sometimes they leave the mountains of Idaho or the deep Ozarks. Now they’re being primed for a Holy War to defend their America – defend it from thew majority of us and what we believe!
Of course, Hawley and friends never acknowledge the approach to governing they share with Iran’s clerics. They just know that God only trusts them with the truth.
In less than a year America will again select a President and fill the House and Senate. In every state new legislatures will be determined by voters.
Or, maybe that won’t happen.
The dysfunction in today’s U. S. House of Representatives effectively cripples Congress. Yes, I suspect that Democrats to regain control of the House, probably with a 15 to 20 vote majority. And, Democrats retain a fighting chance of holding onto the Senate (though polling suggests even Josh Hawley face likely reelection). In other words, the crazies won’t rule but they’ll still be there wrecking havoc and they will at least try to impose their will when their candidates lose.
An army of vicious malcontents is waiting for the call.
Can’t happen? Read up on the demonstrations – as well as kidnapping plans and other crimes – committed by a small group in Michigan upset with their state government! Multiply that by a thousand.
The great potential for a January 6 level event every week in 2025 exists. America counts on most citizens following the rules. Government at all levels will not be prepared for on-going Civil War.
