2016 Volunteer Reflections

Many WCD members volunteered for candidates, voter registration and for Get out the Democratic Vote (GOTDV).  It was rewarding, fun & easy!  Here are some reflections…

I was most flattered at the number of photos students asked to be taken with me.  I said, “Uncle Sam 14701055_10154534958346698_4513190137792879847_onever felt so flattered!”  We also had the artistic backdrop of posters created by the team of my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.  Then there was a young, challenged, fifteen-year-old who asked if he could vote. When we explained, he said he would wait.  All in all, we registered nearly 60 young voters-to-be in those six visits!”  L.K.

Another member every week brought a stack of Voter Registration forms from the GOTDV Committee to church & mentioned voter registration during open announcement time. The parishioners were happy for attention to voter registration & the entire stack of forms was gone by mid-October. Every small action is important to our democracy!

Keep those stories coming, volunteers!
