If there have not been enough developments to give you serious pause, if not night sweats, about the incoming Trump administration, consider this: As reported by Politico, Donald Trump appears to be planning to maintain his own, private security and intelligence force distinct from the Secret Service. Donald Trump is on the way to setting up his now Praetorian Guard. This will be a group more aggressive in dealing with protesters or anyone Mr. Trump dislikes. This is a group with no training in nor commitment to the complexities of guarding a president while also respecting the rights of citizens. Ominously, it also seems consistent with Mr. Trump’s apparent bid to establish what can only be described as one-man authoritarian rule.
It seems there is yet another reason to write your elected representatives.
