Next week on Monday, March 11th, our guest presenters Samantha Stangl and Jacob Eikenberry will be discussing the Mass Incarceration Community Initiative, giving overview of the criminal justice system and providing insights into the devastating consequences of mass incarceration.
We imprison more people per capita and in total than any other country on earth, and the human and monetary costs are enormous, so I am sure the this presentation will be very enlightening.
As always, we also look forward to Glenn Koenen’s legislative update; and you won’t find a more thorough read out on the current activities of our state and national leadership anywhere.
As you know, it is our mission to inform and educate on issues that impact us all, and we are fortunate to have a long history of really excellent discussion topics and guest presenters. We strive to organize and present topics that are germane and valuable to the members of our community, and we have an exciting list forming for the year.
We also look to the group for participation and input. If there is a topic or issue you would like to see covered in a future meeting or on this website, please seek out any of the WCD board members at the next meeting and share your thoughts.
