I think it’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the second amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.

The murder of any person is a tragedy, something which should not be embraced or celebrated.
Yet, I have to object to those – including virtually every Republican near a microphone in recent days – who overlook the irony that a man who accepts the deaths of innocents as an acceptable payment for a near universal firearms ownership died from a bullet wound.
Charlie Kirk created confrontations. He grew rich parroting the views of Donald Trump and translating bigotry into language appealing to 20-somethings, including incels.
We need to have a Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor. We need it immediately.

To summarize, THEY are out to get US.
I laughed when the current President ordered flags lowered to half staff in honor of Kirk. Kirk’s “accomplishments” were never heroic nor in the best interests of the republic. He sought, effectively, to divide America.
Remember too how quick Trump was to demonize “the left” and his minions attacked Democrats for Kirk’s death. Two problems here…
- The accused shooter was not a registered or active Democrat, in fact his parents are registered Republicans.
- Many of the GOP who complain about Kirk’s murder supported the wholesale absolving those who committed hundreds upon hundreds of felonies by attacking, maiming and destroying on January 6, 2021.
If you want to come out against gun violence and lawlessness, please join the crowd. Just don’t make it conditional on the offender’s politics.
